Outcome | 9 mths after therapy, audiometric evaluation showed slight improvement in both ears; in less than 2 yrs, average loss was 35 decibels and patient was socially adequate at 2000 and 8000 Hz; patient gained between 15 and 20 decibels in both ears; study indicates that result obtained is due to ability of acupuncture to improve speech discrimination and hearing ability in patient with sensorineural deafness. |
