Condition aseptic necrosis of femur head in children (Perthe’s disease)
Study type case series
N / Groupings [group 1] MRT (135) vs [group 2] traditional pharmaceutical and physiotherapeutic treatment (N not given)
Type of acupuncture MRT
Points used biologically active pts of midback, Large intestine, Stomach and Bladder meridians
Parameters used nonthermal millimetre band electromagnetic radiation (‘sensor reaction’ in region of affected segment of extremity was observed in range of biologically relevant frequencies from 57.0-64.0 GHz)
Stimulation duration no details
Number of sessions average of 4-5 courses, each course consisting of 15 treatments; 5 mth interval between courses
Follow up no details
Endpoint measure Clinical X-ray, electrophysiological, biochemical, immunological and thermographic methods
Outcome MRT resulted in speedy resorption of necrotic section of skin and in stimulation of reparative regeneration of bone tissue in affected epiphysis which was mostly marked in stages of impressional fracture and rehabilitation: if treatment started in 3rd stage, therapeutic effect was less marked, but duration to recovery was less than in group 2; complete or partial recovery of structure, shape and form of femur head was obtained in 89.3% of MRT patients
